Not in the fun sense either. Although all three of us were able to complete the challenge, I don't think we'll be running out the door to try it again. Although I must say that soup was pretty damn tasty!

Re: Orochon “Special Number Two” Ramen

I tried the fire challenge. I love this place and also seen it on Man vs Food. My brother and I have been going there for a few months. We normally get The Soy #2(Not special, this is 4 degrees down from that) This soup is absolutely delicious. It is amazing how much flavor there it has. I got the bright idea that I wanted to try the challenge. These are the biggest bowls I have seen and I can finish the soy 2 so I figured I could handle the special 2. I was wrong. First off, they add about 2 or 3 more cups of broth into the bowl. Second, there are about 3 dozen quarter inch jalapeno slices in it. And to top it all off the soup is practically served boiling. The intense spice is augmented by the intense heat. I attacked the veggies first, as they were easiest to cool. Then the noodles. All I had left was the broth. And 20 minutes to go. I start sipping the broth at a steady pace. I get half way done, when my stomach starts feeling weird and lets out a strange noise. My mouth started to water. And not the water as when you are hungry and you see something delicious and salivate over it. No. This was the, I am feeling queasy and my saliva glands are going postal. I sit for a few minutes and my stomach settles. I start sipping again. Within four spoon fulls, the feeling is back and worse then before. I was upset. The soup was spicy but it wasn't that bad. I was able to tolerate it. But for some reason my stomach wanted no part of it. I had to stop eating because I was one sip from vomiting. My brother was already full from his soup and was ready to go whenever I was. I told him "we gotta go. Now!" I asked him to handle the check and went outside. I didn't see a restroom anywhere and headed for the first trashcan I saw. I didn't make it. The trashcan was to far and the soup was on its way up. I tucked away into a corner off to the side and out it came. It was only a little bit. Just enough to make my stomach happy. It was also half water. Being as I was trying to settle my stomach with the much appreciated ice water provided in large cups. The funny thing is that it tasted good coming out just as it did going in. I wont be trying the Special #2 any time soon. If I decide to attempt it again I will first get it to go and try it at home. If I do it there I will go back for my revenge. I will however go back multiple times for the Soy #2. :) I highly recommend this place to everyone. If you like ramen that is. Oh and if you want a nice treat, order the Cha-Shu plate. It is a delicious slice of pork over a bed of bean sprouts. It is absolutely worth the price.

Re: Orochon “Special Number Two” Ramen

I tried the fire challenge.
Oh I also forgot to mention. I am not sure how you all are after eating this soup, but, my two brothers and I always get the Soy #2 as I mentioned earlier. It is pretty spicy. We live about 25 minutes east of this place. On the ride home this soup all hits us. As soon as we get home we are all fighting for the bathroom. This soup goes right through us. And the weird thing is, that it has a very strange odor. lol. I apologize, for this is too much information but it is something I need to say and ask. It smells very awkward. My family says it smells like cat pee. lol. Does anyone else have this side affect? lol. The soup is well worth this strange side affect. I was just curious.

Re: Orochon “Special Number Two” Ramen

You definitely need to prepare for a rough night!
We were fearless warriors though. No pain, no gain.
